Product Description Product Specification

The life cycle of a spider is a perfect example of what is called an incomplete metamorphosis. The spider only undergoes three stages of physical development: eggs, spiderlings, and adult. The pupa stage isn't part of the life cycle of a spider. Instead, we have placed an extra step to represent the egg sac for learning purposes.

A spider has an exoskeleton (external skeleton) which only allows for molting and shedding as it grows. It can lay approximately 3000 eggs in one egg sac. It may transport it or keep it nestled in a spider web.

We hope our complete set 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘁: 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 wooden puzzle with movable parts and 3D plastic figures will help children develop an appreciation for all kind of lives and also an understanding of metamorphosis as an adaptation for survival!

The Life Cycle of a Spider shown has the following stages:
  • Eggs
  • Egg sac

  • Spiderlings

  • Adult Spider
