Globe of the World Complete Set consists of the classic Montessori Globe of the World accompanied by corresponding 3-part Nomenclature Cards for each continent.
Montessori education offers a unique approach to the abstract concept of political boundaries such as continents. Each continent is attributed a color: North America is orange, South America is pink, Europe is red, Asia is yellow, Africa is green, and Antarctica is white.
This color-coded system will be using throughout a child's Montessori geography learning experience which formally begins around age 5. You may find printed or concrete materials organized per continent using these colors. The color-coding method helps children identify quickly where certain cultural contents or living organisms are located on the Earth.
Globe of the World Complete Set will ensure that children are fully equipped to make this preparatory experience a success. The set includes a high quality globe on a rod which is affixed to a base, and a set of precut laminated three-part Nomenclature Cards covering all seven continents. A three part tray can be purchased separately.
These cards are printed on 60lb card stock paper.
The cards are laminated and cut.
