The Geometry Cabinet consists of a mahogany finished cabinet with six drawers, and 35 geometric insets and frames. The drawers contain circles, rectangles, triangles, irregular figures, regular polygons, and quadrilaterals. The purpose of this material is to initiate children to the diverse geometric shapes that surround them. This work is an early and indirect preparation for geometry and writing. As children explore the various shapes with their fingers through a variety of exercises, they develop exact movements that will help them later in writing.
