Fractions are introduced early in Montessori classrooms. You can find indirect exposure to fraction through sensorial and practical works, until children are formally presented a set of 10 fraction insets.

Our team at Alison's Montessori creates extension work to aid children further develop and maintain their knowledge. The material presented today is meant to provide children with concrete materials to associate visual fractions to their symbols.

This product comes with 2 large working frames, 10 sets of fractions with countering frames, and numbered tiles. Children can work on practicing writing the symbolic representation of fractions. They can also explore fraction equivalencies using the comparative frame with the equals sign between two circular holes.

Children will continue exploring fractions for many years. Setting a strong foundation early is fundamental.
